The Safety Conference will be a complete day of safety training and award recognition. This day is traditionally part of MBI’s Annual Winter Conference, but for 2021 will be a stand-alone event on January 25, 2021, that is expected to attract several hundred individuals. For twenty years, MBI has brought together construction colleagues from throughout the state to participate in the MBI-PAC’s top fundraising event. The “Smoker” is a great way to share good times with industry partners and play golf at Wakonda Club in Des Moines, all while supporting your industry’s important and influential MBI-PAC. MBI-PAC Sporting Clay Builders' Classic

These events continue in the great MBI tradition of bringing together industry colleagues for a day of construction camaraderie. During the 2019 events, we had a solid showing of support for the MBI-PAC and our legislative affairs efforts at the Iowa Capitol.
For the Builders’ Classic, teams of five shooters test their shooting accuracy and skills using a Sporting Clays format. This challenging clay target game is designed to simulate field shooting, in which participants are presented with a wide variety of targets. To shoot, a personal contribution of $250/person to the MBI-PAC is required. That fee includes course fees, ammunition, lunch, all day beverages, and admission to the awards reception, which includes food and drinks. This event is also known as B.Y.O.G.—bring your own gun! Checks should be made out to the MBI Industry Advocacy Fund. Contributions to the MBI Industry Advocacy Fund (a 501c4) are not tax deductible. Please consult your tax advisor.
