Under the OSHA standard CFR 1926 Subpart P, all employees must be trained in hazard recognition and the proper way of working in and around construction excavations sites. The standard covers general requirements, job story analysis, soil classification, sloping and benching, timber shoring for trenches, aluminum hydraulic shoring, alternatives to timber shoring, selection of PPE.
