Every MBI member falls into one of two categories: Regular Members or Associate Members. There are also different classifications within each of these categories. The information below outlines these categories and classifications, as well as the dues and pricing associated with each.
**Dues will be assessed in the following manner:
- Membership applications received from January 1 – June 30 will be assessed full dues.
- Membership applications received from July 1 – September 30 will be assessed half dues.
- Membership applications received from October 1 – December 31 will be assessed full dues and will be considered paid in full for the following calendar year.
Regular Members
These firms consist of general contractors, design builders, construction managers and developer builders, and are defined to be any partnership or company that contracts to perform or manage construction work in its entirety and which executes such work in whole or in part with its own constructing force.
Dues:
$600 per calendar year + volume assessment (as described below)
Regular Non-Home Members:
These are any company fitting the description of a Regular Member that is visiting from another AGC jurisdiction and who are full members of that AGC Chapter.
Regular Non-Home Member Dues:
$250 per calendar year + volume assessment
Volume Assessments:
These fees are levied on the Regular Members as determined by the Board of Directors and shall apply to the gross contract price of all construction projects, except for those construction projects on which dues, fees or assessments are levied by and paid to another chapter of AGC of America. Members will make such reports on quarterly forms furnished by MBI. Volume assessment rate will be $1,000 per $1,000,000 of volume with a maximum of $15,000 per year. Two separate Regular Member companies connected by common ownership shall have a joint volume dues maximum of $20,000 per year.
Associate Members
Associate Members are either specialty contractors, services providers, or suppliers, all of which are defined below.
Specialty Contractors: Firms that employ labor on job sites and perform work for Regular Members. These companies are required to pay dues based upon volume of work performed in Iowa and Rock Island County, Illinois, based on the classifications and terms below.
Specialty Contractor I
Associate Members whose annual volume is between $0 - $1,000,000
Dues: $545 per calendar year
Specialty Contractor II
Associate Members whose annual volume is between $1,000,001 - $5,000,000
Dues: $705 per calendar year
Specialty Contractor III
Associate Members whose annual volume exceeds $5,000,000
Dues: $1,125 per calendar year
Service Providers/Suppliers: This category applies to firms who do not employ labor on the job site, but who provide a good or service to the construction industry.
Dues: $545 per calendar year
Design Professionals: This category applies to firms who do not employ labor on the job site and operate primarily in the architecture and/or engineering fields.
Dues: $545 per calendar year
